How to Make Pearl Jewelry?

Making a Black Pearl Bracelet

The first thing you have to do with any project is to gather the supplies and tools you will need. For a basic pearl bracelet you only need jewelry wire, nippers and black pearls. If you want you can add spacer beads, crimp beads, and silver clasps. You will also need crimping pliers for these additions. Here are the steps:

-cut the desired length of wire, remembering to add a bit extra for finishing

-place a crimp bead over one end of the bracelet and use the crimping pliers to close the wire

-crimp a bead cover over the top for a finished look

-now start stringing the beads and alternate between big pearls and small pearls

-leave some space at the other end of the wire

-place on your second crimp bead after the last bead and close it over the wire with the pliers

-put on the last crimp bead cover and cut off the remaining wire

Pearl Hoop Earrings

This is a neat creation for anyone that loves earrings, hoops and pearls. Here is what you will need: 40 2-3mm freshwater pearl beads, 2 bead tips, Size .010 beading wire, Wire cutters, Glue, 2 ear hooks, Flat/bend nosed pliers.

1. Slip 10 pearls onto the thread and cut the thread with a few extra inches on each side of the pearls.

2. Put both ends of the thread through the hole of the beads.

3. Tie 2 over hand knots and tighten them to the others inside the shell of the bead tip.

4. Trim excess thread and add a bit of glue to the knot.

5. Uses bent nosed pliers to close the bead tip around the knot.

6. Repeat steps 1-6 for the other earring.

7. Add ear hook to the hook on the bead tip.

8. Use round nosed pliers to close it.

9. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for the other earring.
